Abstract
Three industry leaders have encouraged individuals and teams throughout the industry to enter the Public Sector Catering Awards, which aim to celebrate excellence.

There are 18 award categories, which represent all areas of the sector, and it is simple to nominate yourself, a colleague or a team online. The Awards recognise individuals and teams who operate within a public sector catering environment including contract caterers.

Andy Jones, winner of the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award and immediate past chair of the PSC100 Group (now PSC Alliance), said: “The Public Sector Catering Awards are a superb way to celebrate the achievements of individuals and teams within this very special sector and to share the great work you’ve done each day to enhance the lives and wellbeing of your customers and clients.

“They showcase the work and the extra mile that the sector goes 365 days a year. After the Covid-19 pandemic and with the current pressures on finances, our sector is amazing at reacting, showing innovation and compassion, so let's all enter now and showcase what you do. Please get nominating today, that nomination not only improves morale, but the lift it gives just being shortlisted, to winning is an amazing achievement and truly humbling.”

Phil Rees-Jones, chair of TUCO, added: “Winning a PSC Award is a prestigious industry accolade and by nominating a colleague or peer for an Award, you are acknowledging their dedication to the industry.

“If you know someone deserving of such an honour, you shouldn’t think twice about the impact that nominating them can have on their morale, motivation and career progression. The last few years have been unprecedented for our industry, and there’s never been a more important time to recognise those who have gone above and beyond in their roles.”

Brian Robb, chair of the Hospital Caterers Association (HCA), commented: “To all public sector caterers in particular those associated with health, do you have a team that are delivering above and beyond? Are you in awe of a colleague excelling in their role?

“Then you need to consider nominating them in the Public Sector Catering Awards. These prestigious awards highlight the hard work and achievements of employees, teams and colleagues, can boost staff morale, improve motivation and even raise your business or organisation’s profile and perhaps help attract new talent to your business. It’s a wonderful way to recognise your team.”
