Abstract
The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) is encouraging companies within the hospitality sector to enter this year’s new FDF Awards 2013.

The new awards are now open for entry – giving all companies within the food and drink supply chain the chance to show their customers and competitors that they are leading the way.

The awards have been launched to coincide with the Food and Drink Federation’s centenary and include a number of categories for both individuals and companies.

A number of food service and hospitality entrants have been successful in FDF’s previous awards scheme, the Community Partnership Awards, and FDF hopes that companies in the sector will take the opportunity to showcase achievements and gain an industry badge of excellence.

The entries will all be judged by panels of industry experts and the winners announced at an exciting awards ceremony at Vinopolis, London on 14 November.

This year’s categories are:

Company categories:

Innovation                                       Community Partner
Good Employer                                Exporter of the Year
Environmental Leadership               Health and Wellbeing Champion
Growth Business                             Education Initiative

The Apprentice of the Year category will also be joined by new individual categories for scientists and engineers in the industry.

Food and Drink Federation economics and commercial director Steve Barnes said:
“The FDF awards will be a badge of excellence, showing that in a competitive industry, a company is best in class. Customers and suppliers look for third party endorsements to see how retailers measure up.

“Our work on skills shows us how many talented, dedicated people there are working in food and drink which has inspired a number of new individual categories, so you can nominate colleagues who are high achievers and real ambassadors for our industry.”
