Abstract
Over thirty hospitality professionals will be undertaking a life changing challenge tomorrow, by trekking over 60 miles in Little Tibet to make a lasting difference to the lives of those less fortunate both in the UK and abroad.

The 32 professionals, including staff from Zenith, Gather & Gather, BaxterStorey, Sodexo, Compass, and The Landmark Hotel, will be setting off on March 10th 2015 on a five day trek of up to 60 miles followed by a three-day volunteering project in schools in a village at an altitude of 2500m.

The trekkers have a £100,000 target to raise for The Springboard Charity to improve the lives of young people who face difficulties and hardship in the UK.

Springboard Chief Executive Anne Pierce said, “The Trek is a fantastic way to do something pro-active and meaningful, raise significant funds and make a lasting difference to the lives of young people in Little Tibet as well as in the UK. It also challenges our own abilities to cope under testing mental and physical encounters, as well as being a unique opportunity to develop relationships, cultivate teamwork and friendship in an unforgettable environment.

“Ultimately, we hope that the trek will provide the opportunity for people to better understand the scope and value of the work that the Charity does in the hospitality industry in the UK.”
