Abstract
To help Hospitality Action support colleagues in need, it is once again hosting its annual Charity Polo Day at Beaufort Polo Club (Gloucestershire) 9 September.

With a host of critically acclaimed chefs set to prepare the three-course meal, guests will be treated to a champagne and canapé reception, three-course lunch and afternoon tea, as well as grandstand seats to the polo final.

Menu ‘highlights’ include a roast rack of Wiltshire lamb, dill fermented lettuce and fresh wasabi, and Welsh lamb two ways with spiced aubergine, artichoke and braised spring onion.

Now in its ninth year, Hospitality Action will welcome chef Kris Biggs (The Rectory Hotel) for the first time, who will prepare the day’s afternoon tea.

Two chefs will meanwhile take on the same course to provide a ‘unique twist’ to the day’s service, with the line-up including: Michelin-star chefs Hywel Jones (Lucknam Park), Niall Keating (Whatley Manor), Rob Potter (The Manor House); as well as Richard Davies (Calcot Manor); André Garrett (Cliveden House); and Robby Jenks (The Vineyard).

Jones commented: “It is hard to believe this will be the ninth Polo Day I have been a part of - we are very lucky to have so much talent in the South West.

“Last year, the event raised over £50,000 thanks to the combined effort of all those who took part. The Polo Day is a calendar highlight and this year, thanks to suppliers such as Flying Fish, Total Produce and Creed Foodservice, I know we can raise more than ever before”.

Richard Ball, Chairman of the Hospitality Action South West fundraising board, added: “Over the years, the Polo Day has grown in popularity and this year is no exception.

“The event is a real team effort and brings together the best of South West hospitality. I am extremely grateful to all those who have lent a hand and consistently make the Polo such a tremendous success.”

Tickets cost £105 per person or £950 for a table of 10. For more information or to book, contact fundraising@hospitalityaction.org.uk or visit www.hospitalityaction.org.uk.
