Abstract
Raising money for hospitality workers in crisis, charity Hospitality Action has announced its fifth fundraising cycle challenge, Le Tour de Cuisine, will this year take place 4 June across the north Cotswold.

With new routes announced including this year’s start/finish location at the Calcot Hotel (Tetbury), participants can chose either a ‘short’ 20 mile ride, 40 mile, 60 mile or those “up for an even tougher test,” can partake in a 100 mile challenge.

Registration costs £30 per person with a minimum of £100 sponsorship required, and includes breakfast, food and non-alcoholic drinks along the way as well as a “celebratory” BBQ at the end.

Charity chief executive, Mark Lewis, said: “Last year almost 200 cyclists braved a typically British summer day of wind, rain and cold, raising a record £50,000 – a truly magnificent effort.

“However, we want to help even more hospitality people in crisis this year but we need the industry’s help to do it.

“So why not sign up with your teams, colleagues and friends and join in the fun? The funds you raise really make a huge difference to our work.”

Bronwyn de Cholewa, director at Sky (who is co-sponsoring the event with Technogym UK), added: “We’re proud to be co-sponsoring this year’s Tour de Cuisine. Hospitality Action is a great cause that continues to provide outstanding support to those who work, or have worked, in the UK’s hospitality industry. We are delighted to be able to offer our support by partnering with them.”

Consumer business director at Technogym UK, Paul Morris, commented: “As a company that operates within the hospitality industry and promotes wellness as its core business, partnering with Hospitality Action for its Cotswold Cycle Challenge was a natural choice.

“To support participants on the day, we’ll be providing two of our MyCycling smart trainers and cycling advice so those taking part can warm up and make last minute technique tweaks.”

Le Tour de Cuisine – Cotswold Cycle Challenge is just one of a number of events that Hospitality Action is hosting this year, in attempt to raise much needed funds to help support “those who work or have worked in the hospitality industry and find themselves in crisis.” These include The Big Fat Quiz on 9 May (The Park Plaza Westminster Bridge) and The Northern Lights fundraising Dinner at the Lowry Hotel (Salford) on 1 October.
