He inspired other Trusts and his colleagues in other hospitals to get involved in British Food Fortnight as well as joining the Love British Food Hospital Working Group. He brought Dexter beef farmer Sean O’Neil on board with all the activities providing an invaluable contribution to the discussion on local supply chains.
Smyth said: “It is a pleasure to be involved with Love British Food and celebrating Northern Irish food during British Food Fortnight. What can I say but thank you so much. I will proudly display the plaque in our restaurant. The catering team will be delighted with this news.”
British Food Fortnight aims to celebrate the ‘diverse and delicious’ food that Britain produces. Love British Food has announced that the 22nd edition of British Food Fortnight will take place from 16th September to 1st October 2023.
