Hospital catering industry set to debate staffing, nutrition and sustainability
Abstract
More than 150 senior caterers and managers will gather this week to hear presentations and discussion around key topics such as staff welfare, recruitment, patient nutrition, sustainability and food safety.

They will be joined by representatives from more than 75 supplier companies who will be exhibiting at the 2024 Hospital Caterers Association (HCA) Leadership & Development Forum.

It is taking place at the Macdonald Aviemore Resort in Scotland with registration and an informal dinner tomorrow (Tuesday, April 16th).

This will be followed by two full days of conference presentations, workshops and panel discussions on April 17-18. The HCA’s President’s Gala Dinner will take place on Wednesday, at which the organisation’s annual awards will be presented.

Speakers lined to address the gathering include Mairi Gougeon, Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Land Reform and Islands, in the Scottish Government, who will talk to delegates about Scotland’s Good Food Nation Plan.

The forum is the only event dedicated to catering within hospitals and the NHS and attended by decision-makers from 82% of all acute NHS trusts.
