Abstract
The Hospital Caterers Association (HCA) has unveiled a packed seminar programme for the upcoming Leadership & Development Forum that will take place on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th April 2024 at The Macdonald Aviemore Resort in Cairngorms National Park in Scotland.

The Forum is the only UK event dedicated to the production, delivery and service of nutritious food to patients, staff and visitors in the NHS, making it a ‘must attend’ for anyone in this sector.

The HCA Forum will kick-off with president of the HCA Lord Hunt and national chair Brian Robb updating attendees on the activities of the organisation. Following this session will be Professor David Foskett OBE who will aim to help hospital staff to understand their value.

The next two sessions are ‘Promoting Staff Wellbeing’ and ‘Managing Your Carbon Footprint’. They will act as foundation for the workshop sessions later in the day.

The Hospital Caterers Association Awards, which are designed to recognise the hard work, excellence and achievements of HCA members across the UK, have now opened for entries. There are six awards open for nomination as well as three other accolades that will be given out at the HCA Awards ceremony.

Mairi Gougeon MSP will host the keynote session on the Good Food Nation Plan. It aims to deliver outcomes which support: the nation’s social and economic wellbeing, the environment, people’s health and physical and mental wellbeing, economic development, animal welfare, education and child poverty.

A four nations procurement-focussed session will explore an overview of the work being done in each nation, what changes in Government are likely to mean and what are the key great practice lessons we can all learn from. The panellists include: Loraine Hartley- NHS Scotland, Phil Shelley- NHS England, A speaker from NHS Wales and Rodney Smith- Northern Ireland.

Former Scotland and London Wasps Rugby Union player Kenny Logan will deliver the motivational session covering his time as a league and international player as well as his involvement with the Doddie Weir Foundation. To book your place, visit here
