Hobart Cooking Solutions Steve Maertin retirement
Abstract
Hobart Cooking Solutions is making some changes to its business approach to ensure resources are targeted at key growth areas to delivery maximum benefits. As a result sales director Steve Martin is stepping down and retiring at the end of September after 33 years with the company.

He will spend his final three months liaising with and handing over responsibility to regional sales managers.

The move is part of the company’s new structure, under which distribution of the Wolf range of cooking equipment will become the responsibility of each regional sales team.

Simon Merrick, director of Hobart Cooking Solutions UK, said: “I would like to thank Steve for his immense contribution to the success of Hobart over more than three decades – for his commitment, dedication and energy.”

Martin began his career with Hobart as a sales executive in 1981, was promoted to field sales manager in 1987 and became a regional manager for East Anglia two years later.

He was appointed national sales manager in 1990 and sales director for Hobart UK in 2000. Following the segmentation of the business in 2011, he became sales director for Hobart Cooking Solutions, helping to set up the division’s sales team. During his career, he established and managed many high profile accounts.

Recently, his role has focused on the UK launch and development of the Wolf range, which has now reached the stage where it can be handed over to the company’s regional sales teams.

Merrick added: “Everybody at Hobart wishes Steve well for his retirement. Hobart Cooking Solutions will continue to develop the Wolf brand in this exciting new era.”
