The Peterborough based manufacturer was the first in the sector to back ImpactLoop in a shared ambition to explore commercial catering embodied carbon data - the measurement of greenhouse gas emissions generated by the manufacturer for products sold into the UK market.
Tracy Southwell, managing director of Hobart, said: "We took the leap over a year ago to build our knowledge and understanding of embodied carbon and its significance to catering equipment – the first manufacturer in the sector to do so. During the past 12 months, momentum has grown and there is now ‘loud and clear’ demand for carbon data from progressive dealers and projects and consultant channels.”
The partnership has led Hobart to establish baseline carbon data for 80 of its fastest selling products. Hobart says that in year two of the partnership ‘there is so much more yet to achieve’.
