Abstract
Hospitality training provider, HIT Training is this week celebrating its double awards win - after being named ‘Training Provider of the Year’ at TES’s Further Education Awards and featuring on the Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For.

On Friday (23 February), HIT was rewarded by TES judges for “a monumental past year, driving its apprenticeship agenda. With great staff development and amazing learner and employer satisfaction, clearly HIT is one of the leaders of the sector.”

Since April, HIT has launched four new apprenticeship standards (with a further eight planned) and now has 16 Chef Academy centres across the country, which are “designed to help employers attract and retain chefs and to assist in plugging the national skills shortage.” It also provides panel speakers at national and local events, and continually monitors staff to give feedback on how to improve.

The company also featured at number 74 on the Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For – rising 14 places (from 88th) since 2015. With 90.75% of employees participating in the survey, HIT said: “The results highlighted that 90% of employees are proud to work at HIT Training and 93% believe they make a valuable contribution to the success of the company. 95% of respondents also believe that HIT provides its clients with a high-level of service.”

Managing director Jill Whittaker added: “To say we are thrilled to be named number 74 in the Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For is an understatement.

“This accolade is down to every individual team member at HIT Training and their hard work, determination and unrivalled passion for what they do. Helping employers and learners within the hospitality sector to achieve either their career or businesses goals is what we do, and the fact that so many of our employees chose to participate in the survey affirms the high-quality service we pride ourselves on.

“At HIT, we are a business built on outstanding people and the results from the survey demonstrate the positive and supportive atmosphere across the businesses. It’s an exciting time for us with so many changes in the apprenticeship market and the growing preference for work-based learning.

“With the amazing team we have, (HIT) is continuing to develop its offering and help more businesses and learners to grow their skill set – and what better way to kick-off the year than with this fantastic Times Top 100 listing.”
