HCA National Awards open for entry

The Hospital Caterers Association (HCA) Awards are now open for entry to recognise people's ‘devotion’ to improving the quality of patient service.

Nominations for the HCA National Awards will close on 14 February 2020 and the winners will be announced at the President’s Awards Dinner at the HCA Forum in Liverpool on 2 April 2020. 

The two-day HCA National Leadership & Development Forum will encourage delegates to  ‘Embrace The Future’. The programme will be ‘relevant, challenging and thought-provoking’ for attendees.  

The keynote speakers include Angela Rippon who will host a session on caring for those living with dementia, Mathew Shribman from Cambridge University who will discuss ‘Sustainability no Beef’ and Mike Hayman, vice president of the HCA, will explore future proofing the Association. 

More than 60 HCA members have joined the roster of award winners. The categories open for nomination include:

  • Caterer of the Year Award
  • Chairman’s Choice Award
  • Trade Stand Award
  • Catering Service Team of the Year Award
  • Efficiency & Improvement Award
  • Special Contribution Award
  • National - Rising Star Award – NEW
  • National - Leadership Excellence Award – NEW
  • Wilma Wilkie Outstanding Service

As well as the scheduled programme there will be 90 trade stands. The HCA is asking that everyone involved in the 2020 HCA Forum to collect £1 a week in the lead up to the event for Dementia UK.
