Abstract
The Hospital Caterers Association (HCA) has revealed details of its 2017 Leadership and Development Forum, which will take place at the Europa Hotel in Belfast on 6-7 April.

This year’s event, organised by the Northern Ireland branch of the HCA, will have the theme ‘Seize the Moment - Deliver the Future.’

The forum is set to be opened by the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Alderman Brian Kingston and Fionnuala Cook, president of the HCA.

Among the speakers will be John Compton, former chief executive of the Health and Social Care Board, who will provide an overview of the NHS in Northern Ireland.

Alison McCree, director of estates and facilities, County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust and Phil Shelley, national chair of the HCA and facilities manager at Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust will lead a session that looks at delivering through improved financial control while meeting the quality agenda.

The forum will be Shelley’s second - and last forum - as national chair; after which he will hand over to current vice chair, Stewart McKenzie.

Shelley said: “I’m really looking forward to this year’s forum, which includes a fantastic line-up of speakers, covering a number of thought-provoking topics.”
