Harrison Catering Services strengthens its operational structure with three promotions

27th Oct 2010 - 00:00
Abstract
Independent, family-owned catering company, Harrison Catering Services has strengthened its operational structure with the recent promotion of Nicola Turk, Richard Smith and Bill Graney to three new roles within the company.
Nicola Turk has been appointed to General Manager Group Schools and will take on management responsibility for the Local Authority contract in the London Borough of Wandsworth, in addition to a large group of stand-alone contracts across Lambeth and Southwark. Reporting directly to Gareth Harrison, Director Client Services, Nicola will work closely with the Managers Clients Services responsible for these groups, as well as continuing the development of the Local Authority primary and special schools contract in the London Borough of Lambeth which she has run for a number of years. Nicola currently manages the catering requirements for 64 schools in some of London's most challenging areas and continually delivered impressive results. By creating a true partnership with the Local Authority, school meal uptake now exceeds 70% and the contract has been re-awarded for a further five years in 2009. In another structural development, Richard Smith has been appointed to Senior Manager Client Services, Business and Industry. Richard will now be responsible for all of Harrison Catering Services' Business and Industry clients. In addition, Richard will provide further support for New Business Development in this sector. Richard will retain responsibility for the successful growth and development of Harrison Catering Services largest Business and Industry contract, the Carphone Warehouse/Talk Talk Group. Since gaining the contract, the business has gone from strength to strength and when Carphone Warehouse and TalkTalk demerged, Harrison retained the catering for both groups. Finally, Bill Graney has been promoted to Senior Manager Client Services with special responsibility for Business Development in Group Schools. Bill has run the Local Authority contract for primary schools in Ealing since 2003 and has helped to develop the cutting-edge contract employed there. His hard work is reflected in recent figures which show that meal uptake in Ealing has grown 14.5% in 2009/10, compared to the national average of just 2.1%. Geoffrey Harrison, founder and MD of Harrison Catering Services, said: "These structural changes will strengthen both operations and business development in group schools as well as bringing all of Harrison's Business and Industry clients together. Best practices will be able to be shared more effectively and we can continue to build on the growth that Harrison has enjoyed in both areas of the business."
