1000 most inspiring companies in the UK
Abstract
Harbour & Jones (H&J) has been included in the publication of London Stock Exchange Group’s 1000 most inspiring small and medium-sized companies in the UK.

To be selected for the list, companies had to demonstrate not only a positive growth in revenue over the last four years, but also an increase in employee numbers, workspace, contract wins or patent filings.

“It’s a fantastic accolade to be recognised by the London Stock Exchange Group. Our growth has been possible through our genuine commitment to nurturing the most important part of our business, which is our people,” said Patrick Harbour, co-owner and director of H&J.

“Our strategy isn’t actually about growth, it’s about making sure that each and every one of our client sites is optimised financially, ultimately reducing client subsidy and improving profitability.”

Across the 1,000 companies that were included in the report, 97 different industries were represented. The food and drink sector played a large role with it being responsible for £76 billion in turnover - accounting for 16% of the UK’s total manufacturing sector and employing up to 400,000 people.

H&J was also named as the third fastest growing foodservice company in the UK in a report by En Passant and Zolfo Cooper at the end of last year, with the company’s latest turnover reaching £31million.
