Abstract
GV Group (Gate Ventures), the parent company behind a number of brands offering logistics services to the foodservice sector, has today announced that its GV Food Transport business will be renamed Platebox as part of a new business strategy.

The company, which provides food transport and logistics solutions for the education, healthcare and public sectors, is being rebranded in order to facilitate its further development and growth alongside sister GV Group (Gate Ventures) business, Foodmove.

Platebox and Foodmove deliver similar logistics services, but they do so in different sectors – Foodmove specialises in food logistics for wholesalers, caterers and retailers – using separate business models, with different resource and assets allocated to each.

By working with caterers and local authorities, Platebox delivers food via a wide range of specialist vehicles with heat and ambient capabilities to schools, hospitals and care homes across the country. The specialist heated boxes used to transport the food ensures there is no degradation in quality from the time it is cooked to the time it is delivered.

Tevin Tobun, chief executive of GV Group (Gate Ventures) said: “We are pleased to be able to announce this name change as part of our new business strategy.

“Since its inception in 2001, our business has changed and evolved as we’ve grown. We felt that the time is right in our business journey to create a clear and distinct identity for each of our brands.

“With Platebox, we feel that it helps to tell the story of what we do in a coherent way, and avoid any overlap with any of the work of our parent brand.”
