Grazing partners with Redemption Roosters & appoints head barista
Abstract
Venue caterer Grazing has started a new collaboration with Redemption Roasters, which works to reduce reoffending through coffee, and has also announced the appointment of a new head barista.

Grazing has opened a new coffee bar at a client site in King’s Cross, where it has introduced Redemption Coffee. The venue caterer will serve Redemption’s own brand coffees including The Block, The Yard and The Wing, roasted at HMP the Mount.

Redemption Roasters operates barista and technician courses at three UK prisons, where participants have been found to be 50% less likely to reoffend.

Fran Coombe, senior sales manager at Redemption Roasters, said: “It has been great working with the team at Grazing. From the beginning, chief executive Sam Hurst and Orçun Çömlek understood the importance of a strong partnership between caterer and coffee supplier, they have been a joy to work with. It's great to be able to spread the word about Redemption Roasters whilst making a positive impact towards reducing reoffending rates in the UK.”

Grazing has also appointed Orçun Çömlek as head barista. He previously worked as head barista at the Daisy Green Collection’s Paradise Green site in the City and at Cofx. Çömlek will oversee training and support of the Grazing team and the company’s coffee offer.

Çömlek added: “It is really amazing working in the Grazing family and I’ve really been able to put my coffee knowledge to best use. Since my first day, chief executive Sam Hurst, has supported me and encouraged me to bring my ideas to the table.

“We try to be ahead of the trends as well as provide the best coffee and service to our customers, which is a real motivator. As the first site at which Grazing is offering a dedicated coffee service, we’ve already achieved fantastic results in a very short time.”
