The contract is for five years and will see Graysons working in partnership with the British Library to manage the busy public restaurant and the cafés at the Library’s Grade I Listed building on the Euston Road, which receives over 1.6 million onsite visits per year.
In addition, they will be providing event catering and hospitality services for the British Library Conference Centre, managing the staff catering facilities, and working with the Library to constantly develop the food and drink services including a new members’ lounge and bar area.
Caroline Brown, head of commercial services at the British Library, said: “We are delighted to be working with Graysons at our St Pancras site. They impressed us throughout the tender process with their approach to building strong partnerships and their commitment to tailoring their offer and service.
“We are currently engaged in a series of projects at the British Library which will transform the way people experience and enjoy our buildings. Graysons gave us great confidence that they will work with us to deliver an exciting range of food and drink alongside our other new ventures.”
The award of the contract follows an extensive tendering process over the past six months and is Graysons’ second major contract in the Knowledge Quarter around St Pancras, following the award of the contract for the neighbouring Francis Crick Institute last year.
