Abstract
First year students at Balfron High School, Glasgow, have got their health promotion off to a good start with the launch of their healthy lifestyle challenge.
BBC sports reporter Alison Walker was a key speaker at the launch, motivating the students with her talk on Healthy Active Lifestyles.
Until the end of the school term, each S1 Form Class will work together to produce a presentation on fitness results, healthy lifestyles, diet and nutrition and suggestions on how their class can improve their personal results next year.
The students will also be comparing these results with national statistics. They will work on this interdisciplinary project through PE, Maths, IT and PSE with the help and support of their Form Class Leader.
The presentation will take place in a house assembly during the second week in June and judges will select a winning class.
The winning class will be taken to Wallace High School to share their work with them and spend the rest of the day enjoying a healthy lunch and doing a fun activity.
