Abstract
A gold ring that was lost 12 years ago was found by a woman from Somerset digging up carrots for dinner.
Lin Keitch from Somerset found her lost ring when washing her home-grown vegetables.
The 40th birthday gift given by her husband was lost in the garden when the ring was passed down to her daughter.
She described finding the ring as a “chance in a million” discovery, which she recognised immediately despite it covered in soil. She said: “I cut the greens off and scrubbed them, and I thought, ‘What’s that? Goodness, it’s my ring’.”
The ring wearing vege is not the first of its kind. Last year, Mary Grams from Alberta found her lost jewel on a carrot when she visited her family farm.
