- The town of Olney in Buckinghamshire is famous for its Pancake Day race, which has been held since 1445.
- On Pancake Day, British households spend an estimated £40 million on ingredients to make pancakes.
- According to the Guinness World Records, Brad Jolly from Australia flipped a pancake 140 times in just one minute.
- The most popular pancake topping in the UK is lemon and sugar, with over 20% of people choosing this combination.
- The first recorded pancake recipe was in an English cookbook in 1439.
- In France, it is a tradition to make a wish while the pancake is being tossed, holding a coin in the other hand.
