Abstract
On this edition of Fun Friday Food Facts we asked artificial intelligence chatbot Chat GPT for ten interesting food facts.
- Honey never spoils. Archaeologists have found pots of honey in ancient Egyptian tombs that are over 3,000 years old and still perfectly edible.
- Tomatoes are fruits, not vegetables. Botanically, tomatoes are classified as berries because they develop from the flower of the plant and contain seeds.
- Pineapples were so rare that they were once rented out. In 18th-century Europe, pineapples were so expensive that wealthy people would rent them to display at parties to show off their status.
- Avocados were once used as aphrodisiacs. In Aztec culture, avocados were believed to be an aphrodisiac because of their shape and rich, creamy texture.
