Abstract
In the week where Black Friday lasted a whole week, we found some food facts.

Have you ever accidently eaten the sticker on your apple or any other fruit?  Not to worry, they’re edible and so is the glue used to stick them.

Do you know what the UK’s largest food export is? Go on have a guess… It’s chocolate, the UK’s largest food export year to date is chocolate, worth £471.0m which is up 13.2% (£54.9m) year on year.

Boy or girl? The truth is even the food of love doesn’t know. Oysters alter their own sex through their life, starting male and ending as females. Their shape too depends on the number of other oysters they shared the bed with as they develop.

We think the phrase ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ is an old saying, but it was coined as a marketing slogan in 1904 by a US fruit farmer when the temperance movement’s criticism of cider hit apple sales.

Eating beetroot can make you run faster, according to a new study. Researchers from the University of Exeter found that athletes who drank a glass of beetroot juice before running 20 metres saw an improvement in their sprint time by 2%.

The fortune cookies you might enjoy at a Chinese restaurant are in fact not Chinese. About three billion are produced across the globe a year, mostly in America, and are relatively unknown in China.

McDonald’s sells 75 hamburgers every second of every day.
