The Meals on Wheels Award was shared among the four shortlisted entries, with judges finding themselves unable to separate them. The joint winners were Food Train, Molesey Centre for the Community, Health & Independent Living Support, West Sussex, and MyChef Meals on Wheels.
The Care Establishment of the Year went to Heritage Manor, West Eaton, while the Hotel Services Team from the FSHC Group claimed the Catering Team Award and Stuart Middleton, group catering and dining manager with Renaissance Care, was named Catering Manager of the Year.
Elsewhere, the National Chair’s Award was presented to Mark Taylor, director of Bloom Foodservice and chair of the NACC South East Region.
NACC Chair Sue Cawthray, making her last official act before stepping down from the role, praised Mark’s knowledge of the care sector, his enthusiasm, tireless support and friendship.
Also at the awards, which form a highlight of the NACC’s annual Training & Development Forum, the South East Region also collected the Region of the Year award for the group’s activity over the past 12 months.
And the Pam Rhodes Award, given for outstanding achievement within the care catering sector, went to Alison Smith, prescribing support consultant dietitian with NHS Herts Valley CCG.
Chair Sue Cawthray nominated Bowel Cancer UK as her chosen charity and the raffle on the night raised more than £3,000 for it.
