Abstract
The Foodservice Packaging Association (FPA) hosted its annual awards ceremony this month (8 March), which saw Compass Group named its 2018 foodservice catering operator and Huhtamaki its manufacturer of the year.
Hosted by comedian Rod Woodward at the Grand Hotel Brighton, 400+ guests enjoyed a cocktail and canapé reception, three-course meal and after party sing-along - raising over £5,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital (the company's current charity appeal.)
Speaking on the night, chairman Howard Colliver thanked "those who give of their time to the FPA and the companies who support them," as well as this year’s awards judges, including Mike Hanson of BaxterStorey; Dick Searle from the Packaging Federation; Brunel University's Professor Rob Holdway and Olliver Rosevear of Costa Coffee.

- FPA product innovation award - Huhtamaki UK and Ace Group (for The 02 range for Levy UK)
- Corporate social responsibility – Bidfood (for ‘To Bee or Not To Bee’)
- Sustainability – James Cropper for CupCycling
- Design team of the year 2018 - Euro Packaging (for Jena ep design house)
- Rising star award – Eilidn Brunton, Vegware
- Chairman’s award – Anne Sutton, Dart Container Corporation
