Abstract
Brakes, one of the UK’s leading foodservice wholesalers, is once again backing British Food Fortnight (Sep 26-Oct 6) with a packed programme of activity to highlight the benefits of British produce to its customers.

Headlining the campaign is a Food Expo on 25th September, near Welwyn in Hertfordshire. With more than 70 stands putting the spotlight on the Best of British, the event will showcase British Food Fortnight brunch ideas, as well as chef demonstrations from Fresh Direct showcasing how to maximise British produce on the menu.

In addition, a British Food Fortnight section on the website will provide recipe and food inspiration from development chefs at the company.

The website BFF section will also feature menu templates, seasonal calendars, and has been updated to include links to all British products by category, so that customers can see at a glance the entire range of UK products available to them.

Paul Nieduszynski, chief executive of Sysco GB, the parent company of Brakes, said: “Providing the best of British, when it’s available and in season is something we’re passionate about. Not only does it reduce food miles and support British farming, but it also means that we can provide the high-quality British produce that our customers demand.
