Abstract
The ISO 22000 certificate on food safety management systems, which shows companies have a food safety management system is in place, is undergoing revision to ensure food safety at every step of the food chain.
The revision, which aims to consolidate the most recent issues of food safety, has reached the Draft International Standard (DIS) stage, where a revised draft is available to ISO members for public consultation and to vote before July 3rd.
The revised ISO 22000 will contain alterations including a new understanding of the ‘risk’ to distinguish between risk at operational and strategic levels and the adoption of ISO’s new High Level Structure, the common framework for management systems standards.
The publication of the revised ISO 22000 is expected by June 2018.
