25th Jun 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Food consultant Nellie Nichols has launched 'Food on the Move Academy', following her recent Lifetime Achievement Award presented to her at the British Sandwich Awards recently.
Nellie Nichols has worked in the food industry for over twenty years encompassing all food categories from sandwiches, salads, sauces and soups to cooked meat and fish, juices, dairy and bakery. The Food on the Move Academy sees Nellie offering her training services free of charge for five days once a year to help those who would not ordinarily be able to benefit from her expertise and experience. Nellie said: "I am honoured to have received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the British Sandwich Industry. I would now like to help a deserving individual or company. I am passionate about food and I would ask anyone who would like this opportunity to progress their career to apply; I will do my utmost to help them receive recognition and success." Any talented individuals or young businesses currently working in the 'food to go' sector are encouraged to apply for the chance to receive this exclusive opportunity. Entrants will be asked to describe their business and the reasons why they or another nominated person should win the chance to spend five days with Nellie learning skills such as innovation techniques, how to achieve 'blue sky thinking' more quickly and how to brainstorm successfully. The five days of free training will be spread over the course of a year and will cover a variety of topics including: • New Product Development • SKU/Menu Planning • Ingredient identification and sourcing • Business systems • Shop layout, logistics and store planning Weblink: www.nellienichols.com
