Food Matters Foundation starts search for Trustees
Abstract
Food Matters has started its search for Trustees who thrive being part of a team as well as those who bring the skills and commitment necessary to take the organisation forward.

The charity aims to take action at every level to empower people, strengthen policy and change the food system – because a fairer food system improves the health of people and the planet.

Trustees are responsible for the governance and strategic direction of the organisation and must ensure it is being financially responsible. The trustees meet four times a year, online and hybrid, with a commitment to at least one in-person meeting and need to be available for an annual strategy day.

A spokesperson for Food Matters said: “Are you passionate about food, social justice and making a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged people? Do you want to join a fun, hard-working organisation working towards making healthy, sustainable and fair food a reality for everybody?”

Food Matters are looking for knowledge and experience in the following areas, to reflect the areas of work they are leading on:

  • Food systems
  • Diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Entrepreneurial fundraising or income generation
  • The criminal justice system / rehabilitation work
  • Participatory approaches
  • Communications
  • Policy and advocacy at a senior level

To apply please read the Trustee Role Description and send your CV and a covering letter outlining: your interest in the charity and your motivation in applying, any relevant experience and explain what you can contribute to Food Matters.

The deadline for applications is 7th October, informal interviews/ conversations week beginning 21st October.
