First-look at Christmas menu at The Portrait Restaurant

Abstract
The Portrait Restaurant, on the top floor of the National Portrait Gallery, has offered a taster of its Christmas menu.
The specially created seasonal menu, which is available to diners from 29 November, features dishes that are described as both traditional and "inspirational" courtesy of head chef Katrina Todosijevic. Starters include white and brown crab served with cucumber, baby gem, iceberg and cherry tomato cocktail with a marie rose sauce. To follow, mains include lamb shank with a rosemary and garlic mash and a confit of red onion served with honeyed parsnips and a caper, anchovy and herb sauce. And desserts shall include an iced white chocolate, dried fruit and candied nut parfait with poached clementines and a dark chocolate sauce. Also available will be Christmas cocktails including the Snow Powder Martini containing Snow Queen Vodka, Baileys, Amaretto and Khalua.
