Abstract
Social enterprise Fink Street Food hosted a cookery session at John Rankin School in Newbury to teach schoolchildren about healthy eating and mental wellbeing.

The cooking sessions, which contained ten children each, involved pupils working in pairs to create healthy flatbread pizzas and filled jacket potato skins.

James Reid, co-founder of Fink told Newbury Today: “The idea of the event was to not only get children thinking about the importance of eating a healthy diet and how that can impact your mental wellbeing, but also building new skills, building self-esteem and confidence, all of which is really important to developing good mental wellbeing for children.”

Through food experiences Fink Street Food aims to ‘blow the mental health conversation wide open and transform their profits into mental health support for young people in need’. As a social enterprise Fink Street Food commits 50% of their profits are used to achieve the social mission.
