‘Fill A Flask’ campaign keeps homeless hydrated in Brighton
Abstract
The 'Fill A Flask' campaign, aiming to keep the homeless hydrated, will be heading to Brighton on 24 July it has been announced by Only A Pavement Away (OAPA), a charity that aims to help the homeless, ex-offenders and veterans find employment in the hospitality industry.

Following a launch in London the charity will be handing over 500 thermal flasks, filled with water, to the homeless across Brighton. Volunteers will be handing out flaks at the seafront, Brighton Railway Station and North Laines.

The flasks can be used throughout the year and the public are encouraged to fill a homeless person’s flask with either a hot or cold drink, according to their needs.

Greg Mangham, chief executive and founder of OAPA, said: “I am so excited to bring our ‘Fill A Flask’ campaign to Brighton. Thank you to all those companies and individuals who heard our call earlier in the year and helped us fundraise to make this campaign possible. It is such a worthwhile and vital cause; on long-hot-summer-nights dehydration can pose a real threat to those people living on the streets.

“I would also like to thank all the pubs, bars, and restaurants who will act as filling stations, allowing us to use their facilities to fill the flasks with water before we distribute them. Due to the overwhelming support from the industry, I am delighted to announce that we will be taking this campaign to Manchester on Friday 9 August.”

Companies wishing to financially support the charity are asked to register at: https://onlyapavementaway.co.uk/get-involved/
