Abstract
The Foodservice Equipment Association (FEA) has announced it will hold its annual conference at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth from 9-10 November.

The FEA Industry Conference will address some of the crises facing the foodservice industry including spiraling costs, supply chain problems, staff shortages, sustainability and climate change.

The event will start with the FEA annual general meeting on 9 November, followed by an informal dinner which provides a networking opportunity and the chance to unveil the FEA Top 100 industry influencers. Chair Steve Hobbs will be handing over the role to Paul Anderson after two years in the role.

One of the keynote speakers Seamus Nevin, chief economist at Make UK, will look at the current economic picture and offer predictions about where the foodservice equipment sector is heading.

A state of the industry update will feature three speakers from key industry sectors who will address the issue of how Government aims on sustainability, waste reduction and net zero will be affected by rising costs.

Matt White, Public Sector Catering Alliance chair, will focus on how the public sector is coping with the current economic pressures and Charles Wood, deputy director of Energy UK, will look at the future of the energy market and the impact on the foodservice industry.

In the afternoon the focus will be on improving diversity & inclusivity and looking at ways of bridging the staffing gap, and how the FEA can change traditional attitudes on recruitment and support women in the rapidly evolving workplace.

At the dinner the FEA Apprentice of the year Award and the Associations' Outstanding Service to the Catering Equipment Industry Award will be presented; as well as a number of special Chairman's awards to individuals whose work and commitment underpins the professionalism of the industry.

Hobbs said: “This is just a taste of what delegates can expect. We hope this whets the appetite of everyone attending and those who are thinking about attending.”
