Abstract
On a night of celebration and recognition recently, the Foodservice Equipment Association (FEA) honoured the champions of charity within the industry at its inaugural Charitable Endeavour Awards.

Held during the association's annual charity dinner on November 15th, the awards highlighted the efforts of individuals, teams, and businesses that raised funds for charitable causes.

Sponsored by warewashing specialist Meiko, the awards saw a large number of entrants who showcased the industry's dedication to philanthropy.

Lawrence Hughes, chair of the FEA revenue and marketing group, said he had been inspired, noting that the judging process was ‘incredibly challenging’ due to the quality of the various stories.

Among the winners, Marston’s secured the Company Category Award for breaking the fundraising record in its Annual Dragon Boat Race, generating substantial contributions for the Wolverhampton Rotary Club and the Marston's Charitable Foundation.

H2O Publishing claimed the Team Category Award for its annual industry football match, which raised over £3,500 for Bowel Cancer UK in memory of late colleague Morag Wilson. The Group Category Award went to Nick Archer and James Connolly, organisers of a commercial catering industry walking group supporting various charities. Thomas Bentham from Unox received the Individual Category Award for his feat of canoeing across the country, raising over £11,000 for East Cheshire Hospice and Macmillan cancer support.

Lawrence Hughes said the awards were a wonderful way to acknowledge the significant contributions of time and money made by individuals and businesses.
