FCSI members donate £50,000 worth of equipment to Clink Charity
Abstract
FCSI UK & Ireland Allied members have donated over £50,000 of equipment to The Clink Charity’s fourth prison restaurant, which will help rehabilitate female prisoners through front of house and chef training.

The new catering facilities, which opened on April 20th 2015 at HMP Styal, were designed by FCSI UK & Ireland professional member Andrew Powis of Sterling Foodservice Design, and features kitchen equipment donated or subsidised by fourteen FCSI members.

Chris Moore, chief executive, The Clink Charity, said: “We receive very generous support from our suppliers and the industry as a whole, especially from FCSI members who have yet again collectively either donated equipment or sold it to us at a greatly reduced price.

“The FCSI members involved have all helped to bring our vision for The Clink Restaurant at HMP Styal to life and we are extremely grateful for their ongoing support.”

Niccola Boyd-Stevenson, chairman, FCSI UK & Ireland, said: “FCSI prides itself on giving back to the industry wherever possible.

“The work of The Clink Charity is truly inspiring – that’s why we’ve supported it through donations to all of its sites and several professional members have given up their time as restaurant ambassadors to help promote the charity to our industry I’m delighted that our members have continued to support the charity to meet its equipment requirements and create a high, standard, professional kitchen in Manchester.”

The Clink Charity is a not-for-profit venture that aims to reduce re-offending rates of ex-offenders by training and placing graduates upon their release into the hospitality industry.
