Abstract
ESS Support Services Worldwide has signed a three-year £12 million contract extension with Transocean Offshore (North Sea) Limited.
The contract means ESS will start to provide catering and hotel services across an additional eight units that were part of the 2007 GlobalSantaFe merger. This will increase the total number of Transocean rigs supported by ESS in the UK and Dutch sectors to 19 rigs and will involve the transfer of 120 personnel to ESS.
Alain Morize, ESS managing director said: "We are delighted to expand and extend the contract with Transocean. The new contract reflects a positive approach to partnership between Transocean and ESS. "Our people are key to our success and it is seeing this in practice that provided assurance to Transocean the benefit of transferring their in-house catering and hotel services team to the ESS team."
John Wigglesworth added:"The win is a real reflection of the efforts of our senior management and operational team to understand Transocean's requirements over the next three years and build a solution that works for the transferring employees, Transocean and ESS. "Real value can be delivered in partnership without tendering and the benefit to outsourcing is clear in this expansion of our service provision to ensure great people, great service and great results."
