ESS catering contract at Police centre
Abstract
ESS Support Service Worldwide, part of Compass Group UK and Ireland, has retained a contract with Carillion Integrated Services at the Metropolitan Police Specialist Training Centre for five years, in a deal worth an expected £3.75 million.

Under the extension, the ESS team will continue to deliver restaurant catering, retail, hospitality, vending and bar food services to around 300 students and 167 permanent members of staff each day.

The Metropolitan Police Specialist Training Centre was opened in 2003 to give London’s police officers firearms and public order training. It features specialist live-fire shooting ranges; mock trains and a subway; an assault house for practicing methods of entry, search houses; and an urban range with simulation roads and houses along with other simulators for firearms training. The training centre helps to maintain the Metropolitan Police Services’ worldwide reputation as a leading law enforcement agency.

Chris Garside, managing director of ESS said: “Having built up a great reputation for our service delivery to both Carillion Integrated Services and the Metropolitan Police over the past five years, it is great to be awarded a further five year contract.”

Janet Wigley, strategic partnership director of ESS commented: “We’ve worked hard to create a solution that is both cost effective and adds value to the existing operation. This is a great result and shows how a combination of good client relationships and great delivery is the foundation to successful long term partnerships.”
