Abstract
The English Institute of Sport (EIS) announced its partnership with healthy recipe box company Mindful Chef yesterday (15 January), to “educate and support British athletes, and offer nutritionally balanced meals, recipes and culinary training.”

Working alongside EIS nutritionists and practitioners, Mindful Chef will help ensure “Britain’s next generation of athletes have access to the right food and knowledge in order to effectively fuel their bodies for success in 2020.” As part of the deal, athletes will also have access to Mindful Chef recipe boxes, recipes and culinary training

Mike Naylor, head of performance nutrition at EIS, said: “Athletes eat 8,000 meals per four-year cycle so any influence we can have to ensure they’re eating the right foods for performance and wellness is absolutely crucial.

“This partnership with Mindful Chef is an exciting one for the EIS, and we look forward to offering athletes healthy and tasty recipes from Mindful Chef in the build-up to Tokyo 2020.”

Mindful Chef co-founder Myles Hopper added: “We're incredibly proud to be supporting British athletes on their journey to Tokyo 2020.

“It's a huge endorsement of the nutritional value of our service that we have been picked as an official supplier to the English Institute of Sport, and amazing for our customers to know that they are eating the same great food as Britain's best athletes. The Mindful Chef community will be rooting for them all the way!”
