Abstract
In a case of ‘cook by name and cook by nature, the National Association of Care Catering’s Care Cook of the Year title has been won by Ellie Cook.
Ellie, who works at Kirkley Lodge, Coulby Newham near Middlesbrough won the competition with a main course of lemon chicken and olive tagine served with cous cous and roasted Vegetables. Her dessert was lemon cheesecake. Second place went to Matt Gomersall, who works at Donisthopre Hall in Leeds. Third spot went to Emanuele Ferri, who works at Haven Bay Care Centre in Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland. The final of the competition was held at the Unilever Development Kitchen at the its Leatherhead offices.
