An investment by the caterer has resulted in a makeover of the college’s ‘Star Café’. A new colour scheme coordinates the café with ‘wild blue yonder’, the college’s public art display which stretches across the foyer of the new college building.
The food offer has been tailored to fit student tastes and now features several of Elior’s themed high street concepts designed to encourage students and staff to stay on campus at lunchtime.
These include:
Heavenly Burger - design your own burger concept
Pizza Foundry - hand-crafted pizzas
GO!SASA; and ChU - deli made sandwiches and salads
The ‘We Proudly Serve Starbucks’ brand will complement the offering.
James Langdon, student services manager, Bracknell and Wokingham College said: “The college is really pleased and excited to have Elior on board as our new catering contractor. Already staff and students have noticed the changes, and we have seen a significant increase in demand. The only challenge now is finding enough seats.”
Paul Fisher, director; education, Elior UK added: “The feedback from college staff and students has been excellent. We have used our expertise in this sector to provide a smooth and efficient transition and deliver a quality of service and product which is working in encouraging customers to keep coming back every day.”
With 1,100 full-time and up to 8,000 part-time students plus 270 staff, the college offers courses to school leavers, adults and staff training for employers.
