Abstract
Elior UK has been awarded a three year catering contract worth £8.4m with Kingston University in London.
The contract will commence on 1 August 2010. Elior will provide the catering for more than 22,000 students, staff and visitors across four campuses, all year round, serving a wide range of catering options from coffee to main meals for up to 4,000 customers from 8.00am until 7.00pm on a daily basis.
The two largest sites each have a separate staff and student restaurant serving freshly prepared meals on site, whilst the other two sites have a combined student and staff facility. Coffee and deli bars situated in two of the sites will be extended to other campus locations over the next two years to supply students and staff with a convenient on-site snacking offer. A vending service is supplied for on-the-go snacking and a full hospitality service caters for the 7,200 conferences and events that take place each year.
Richard Jewitt, head of commercial services for Kingston University's facilities management company, KUSCO, said: "Following a recent tender exercise under the EU process, Kingston University is pleased to announce that Avenance plc, part of the Elior Group, has been successful in being awarded the contract for managing the catering facilities and services at Kingston University.
"The University is looking forward to continuing the working partnership with Avenance plc and to continue to develop and improve the services and facilities used by our students and staff."
