Abstract
Contract caterer Elior UK has won a five-year contract “to transform” the food and drink at the University of Roehampton’s two campuses.

Providing its catering services for the university’s 10,000 students and 1,100 employees, Elior will “make substantial investment to transform facilities,” including bespoke new coffee shops offering barista-quality Fairtrade coffee, “refreshed” menus with more global cuisine and a “wide range” of freshly-made grab and go sandwiches, wraps, salads and grazing pots. It will also serve its branded street food concepts - Wrap Bamboo (Mexican), Bibimbab (Korean), and Beak St. Chicken.

Robin Givens, national sales director at Elior UK, said: “Students tastes have changed dramatically in recent years – they’re more likely to be found in coffee shops than the student bar.

“They’re heavily influenced by world food trends and care about what’s in their food, where it came from, and they want every meal to be an experience. The exciting new offer at University of Roehampton has been designed with that in mind.”

University of Roehampton’s director of estates and facilities, Jerry Woods, added: “The University of Roehampton prides itself on the student experience it offers, with outstanding staff and facilities set in the most beautiful surroundings.

“Food and drink is a huge part of the overall experience, which is why we’re very pleased to be working with Elior to ensure we’re providing the best.”

Elior said the win marks “another significant contract” in the university sector, having secured a five-year contract with Kingston University London in 2016.
