Elior UK awarded platinum status on BITC CR Index

Contract caterer Elior UK has been rewarded with the platinum ranking in the 2013 Business In the Community (BITC) Corporate Responsibility Index.

The top-scoring company in the contract catering field, Elior has achieved significantly better scores than the industry average in areas including training senior managers and board members, improving climate change and waste management.

Carl Morris, Elior’s marketing director, said: “Every company has a responsibility to do business in a sustainable way and this recognition is testament to the time and investment we have given to it.

“We believe corporate responsibility is a continuous journey of improvement, so that operating sustainably becomes an every day, intrinsic part of our business for every employee.”

News of the BITC recognition followed the ranking of Elior UK as the first contract caterer in the Sunday Times Best Big 25 Companies to Work For.

Tim Hammond, Elior chief executive, added: “This recognition positions us as a leader in the hospitality and the UK employment market as a whole.

“We’ve been delighted to receive these two prestigious titles in the space of a few weeks. They highlight our dedication to creating the best experience for our customers and demonstrating best practice in the industry.”
