The contract, which started on the 1 September, provides catering for Chelsea Academy’s 1,200 staff and students. Chelsea Academy has been open for five years and the new term will see the Academy operating close to its full capacity for the first time.
To improve the current food offer and to keep up with the growing number of students, Elior will invest in the Academy in a number of ways. A new weekly menu will be introduced, which will include £2.50 meal deals, popular concepts Pasta Kitchen, Pizza Foundry and Wrap Bamboo as well as grab and go hot meal boxes. There will also be a new coffee bar area in the main reception for use by staff, sixth- form students and other visitors.
Mike Boyle, director of finance and operations, Chelsea Academy said: “We were, above all, looking for quality and value from our caterer. School meals are an integral part of the academy experience. Elior showed that they really shared this view. That’s why we thought they were a great match for the Academy.”
Paul Fisher, director of education, Elior UK added: “The Chelsea Academy contract is very exciting as we have the opportunity to join the school at an interesting stage of its progression. We will work with them to create the best experience for their students, staff and visitors.”
