Abstract
Mellors Catering Services has revealed a ‘significant’ milestone in their commitment to environmental sustainability as they have successfully reduced carbon emissions by introducing electric and hybrid vehicles.

All company car vehicles are now either hybrid or electric. Investing in hybrid and electric vehicles is a vital step towards achieving a greener future and minimising their environmental impact.

Mellors Catering Services was established in 1840 as a local bakery, and now they operate over 360 catering contracts in education and business sites across the North of England.

Mellors Catering Services are committed to delivering an ‘exciting choice of food using only the finest, freshest ingredients from local suppliers which means better quality food’.

Tony Trainor, chief executive at Mellors, said: “We’re committed to adopting eco-friendly initiatives and are delighted to reach this CO2 emissions milestone, 18 months ahead of schedule. I’m thrilled the team have embraced the change to our vehicle policy whilst reducing their overall mileage through efficient working practices, careful journey planning and car sharing.”
