Abstract
School catering company Cucina Restaurants has been awarded two new contracts - Maltings Academy in Witham, Essex and York Road Junior School in Dartford, Kent.

The Maltings Academy contract, under which Cucina will be serving 963 pupils, commences on October 29th. It is expected to generate turnover of up to £600,000 for three years, rising to more than £1m over five years.

The contract at York Road Junior School, which has 337 pupils on roll, is an extension of Cucina's existing contract with the Leigh Academies Trust.

Cucina has been providing catering services for Leigh since September 2011.

Cucina managing director Steve Quinn commented: "I am pleased that our company continues to grow at just the right rate.

“Our carefully evolved business model allows us to offer our young customers a vast choice of yummy, wholesome food every day - before, during and after school.

“We are proving, everywhere we operate, that this is what makes the difference to uptake of school meals."

The new contracts bring the number of Cucina's school restaurants to 40.
