Abstract
Education catering specialist Chartwells has won a six year deal worth £3 million with Brooklands College in Surrey.
The deal, to provide catering, vending and hospitality, is worth nearly £3 million and, for the first time, will see the catering provider working across both the Weybridge and Ashford (Middlesex) campuses.
Chartwells is investing a new food court concept at the larger Weybridge campus. It will feature many of Chartwells' brands such as: an Amigo shop, Mondo Subs, different types of submarine rolls; Goodness Me, a fresh fruit and salad bar; TouJours, Compass' freshly baked baguettes; Trattoria, traditional pizzas, as well as Chartwells' range of cuisines from around the world.
Costa Coffee will also be served throughout the campuses including a Costa Coffee café area in the Students' Union and also within the Mondo Subs outlet planned for students and staff at the Ashford Campus.
Tony Byrne, managing director of Chartwells, said: "In updating the catering at Brooklands College, we strive to make sure that our new food court truly reflects what students like to eat at home and from the high-street. We demonstrated Chartwells' thorough insight into students' eating behaviours and we're now making our research a reality for the students."
Andy Williams, the interim principal of Brooklands College added: "We are really excited to have Chartwells as our college catering provider. The food and drink options on offer will give our students much more variety and choice and I am sure the student placement opportunities will be snapped up by our hospitality students."
