Abstract
Education catering contractors Alliance in Partnership has sponsored a huge batch of bananas to help students in Hereford concentrate and maintain healthy energy levels for their exams.
This is the second time AiP has supported the Whitecross High School with the initiative and believes that all schools should think about alternative ways to assist pupils through exams. The caterer has supplied 180 pupils with a banana for each of their exam. AiP's catering manager at the school Donna Wilkes said: "It is a highly stressful time for anyone taking exams. Bananas contain no fat, sodium or cholesterol and give an instant energy boost because of the carbohydrates to help the students focus on the questions." Head teacher Denise Strutt added: "We have been providing bananas for students for three years now and have seen a huge increase in the success of students. We really appreciate the support from Alliance in Partnership in helping us to prepare our students for their future." AiP manages over 140 contracts and have increased their turnover by 70% during the last three years. In 2011 they are looking to secure a further 15-20 new contracts.
