Education caterers AiP secures contract with first school in Bedfordshire region

Harlington Upper School in Dunstable is a foundation school, providing education to almost 1360 pupils aged 13 to 18 years, with a specialist status in the subject of science. The contract which commenced on the 31st October, is worth over £1 million. Meals will be freshly prepared on-site daily with a choice of breakfast, lunch and snacks. All meals, drinks, snacks and accompaniments will meet the required national government food standards for 11 different food groups and 14 nutrients. Menus will run on a three weekly cycle. David Weller, AiP's managing director, said: "Harlington has a partnership ethos and is part of the Healthy Schools Programme so it is a tremendous opportunity to be working alongside such a health conscious and progressive school." Moira Boyle, Harlington's Business Manager, added: "We are delighted to appoint AiP as our chosen caterer; the students are really looking forward to trying the new menus and the variety of food and drinks on offer." The school has a biometric cashless system installed for easy meal ordering, serving and reporting which AiP will integrate into its service.
