Abstract
Eden Foodservice has been awarded contracts by three schools in Hampshire worth more than £1.5 million.
Under the four-year agreements, Eden Foodservice will provide a range of catering services for students, staff, visitors and community users at Brighton Hill Community College, Portchester Community School and Hounsdown School.
The contracts have been awarded after a competitive tender process with each school receiving a tailored catering solution including breakfast, mid-morning break and lunch.
Eden will provide a range of hot and cold meals and snacks throughout the day from its Deli, Dine and Good to Go menus. All food will be prepared on-site using greater levels of fresh ingredients to encourage healthy eating.
In addition, Eden has been tasked with providing a flexible approach to support local needs and the school's position within the community. As a result, the caterer will provide catering support for a range of functions and conferences during and outside of school hours.
Around 27 catering staff will transfer to Eden Foodservice under TUPE regulations safeguarding existing jobs and ensuring appropriate legislative compliance. This will also support the efficient transfer of the contract to Eden Foodservice and ensure continuity of service levels at each school. Simon James, managing director of Eden Foodservice, commented: "Our priority is to work closely with every school to ensure we provide first-rate solutions that increase the overall food quality and eating experience provided to students, employees and community visitors. We possess the flexibility to tailor our service to ensure that we meet the precise catering needs of our customers."
